Britania Islands, San Agustin: On My Pace

It was during the morning time that we can say that God brought us at the right resort. It was so beautiful and remote. The sand was white and you could enjoy amenities such as swimming pool. They have also a natural cave within the resort where one could explore though it may not be so big.

Kasilad Resort

We did not waste the morning and we headed now towards the Britania Islands.

It was quite a very solitary travel as

vehicle was never a common sight and

there was not much houses as well.

We were simply guided by the tarp along the road telling us that the sight was just meters away.

As we neared towards the shoreline, we could see several islands. It was already noon time so we have to get our own boat now. We were shocked to have been informed that we had to pay P1,600 for the whole tour. To no avail, we agreed hoping that it was all worth it.

As we approached the first

island, half of the shoreline was

covered with sea grass.

Because it was low tide, the

grass was somehow smelly.

Then we explored the whole

island in just minutes.

Bonbon Island
This Bonbon Island has one of the most distinct sands I have ever seen.   With its orange shade, it felt like tiny pebbles that when I stepped on it, it absorbed my weight giving me a sinking feeling.  And the view of the Pacific Ocean was breath-taking, the waves were huge.
What caught my eye was that certain mangrove I think, I’m not sure at all since there was nobody to ask. It has a fruit that looks like Christmas ball.

I stood amazed by its beauty. I’m not sure if it is already included in the taxonomy of flora in the country.

Hagonoy Island
Then we headed to Hagonoy Island. We explored the whole island in just five minutes. It was here that we enjoyed the water. The moderate waves seemed so friendly gently striking our backs. The sand here was quite fine.

More powdery than Hagonoy Island was the sands of the Naked Island. It was naked not because there were naked people sprawling on the sands, but because there was no plant or tee at all. The sands were so white and fine that it glowed under the scorching sun.
Panglanganan Islands

We could actually see Hagonoy Island at a distance and other three islands at our back.

It was already two in the afternoon and we haven’t taken our lunch. Time to head to Boslon Island, the most visited Island of all. Good that our boatman had arranged lunch for us delivered directly in the island.
We enjoyed the shadows of the rock and explored the neighboring islands. Since it was still low tide we just crossed on the other islands on foot. The Panlanganan Cave Island looked like the Chocolate Hills of Bohol. It has actually a very small cave though we were not able to get in since the rocks were very rough.
We just enjoyed looking at the Panlanganan Forest Island at a distant. It was only a few minutes yet the water is already rising and it was already knee-deep when we got back to Boslon Island so we need to rush a little.
Minasingin Island

There were still many islands to explore but some were too small and some were entirely made up of rocks so there was no way that the boat could dock. We only passed by.

Our last stop was the Hiyorhiyoran Island. It seemed that the itinerary had saved the best for last. This was the best view the island could offer.

Aside from the tilting coconut trees on the background, some of the mangroves here appeared dwarf..

As we went back, I could not help but marvel at God’s creation. The P1,600.00 fee for the tour was worth it all. Nothing in my travels so far has offered me so many attractions at an area.

It was time to pack and spend our final stay the famous Waikiki of the Philippines – Cagwait Beach at Cagwait, Surigao. Its C-shaped white shoreline was the best it could offer. It seemed like a surfing area to me since the waves were very powerful. The waitress at a restaurant attested that waves like this were just normal here.
Cagwait Beach
I didn’t think it was wise to dip in the water since it was getting dark when we arrived there. The resort there had the best kinilaw I have tasted. It was seasoned with lemon.

Gazing through the stars of the Cagwait Beach made me wonder the infinity of the beauty of God’s creation. How I wish to have explored them all. How I which to transform the word infinite to finite as I wished to be given more chance to ravish His creation.
